BETM
Thanks for getting things started on the BETM article. I did some reformatting and left you a note on Talk:BETM. Jonathan Stokes 00:00, 15 March 2007 (PDT)
A Whole Bunch of Stuff
Davisfreeberg,
I added some images to spice up the BETM article. Looks like you beefed up the content today. FYI, every ValueWiki Article Page has its own chat room (link in the upper right hand corner of each article page).
You can see at the bottom of the BETM page that it has been viewed 213 times. The page is new, so it is not yet indexed by Google. When Google discovers the page is active, it will begin to draw more traffic.
Investors looking for quick due diligence on small companies must spend tons of time clicking through message boards...I think Wiki is a better way to efficiently share and present information. You are writing a great guide for new BETM investors.
Finally, I like the way you make no bones about the fact that BETM is a risky investment. I think this honesty is part of the wiki culture, and will make wiki information more credible than many "pump and dump" message boards!
Granted I'm completely biased here, but I think wiki is the future of investment research. I think what serious investors on message boards really want is wiki, they just don't know it yet!

Thanks for the help with the formating. I think that this wiki will be a great way to organize information, particularly for a company where information isn't so easy to get at. This is my first real particiation in a wiki, so I'm still learning the best way to format, cite and organize the information, but I'm learning quickly. My plan is to keep adding little bits of information over the next two weeks and then once I've got the basic write up completed, try and get other shareholders to help me keep it up to date. Hard to believe it's already gotten 200 hits after a week. Will be interesting to see the stats on the page after a year. Even though I've got a financial interest in seeing the company succeed, I still think it's important to maintain intellectual honesty when talking about the company. I would much rather see the wiki used to help people with their due diligence, then to try and pump up the stock. While pump and dumps can work in the short run, in the long run they are very bad for shareholders and the company. I'd much rather someone be aware of the risks and choose not to invest to begin with, then buy this because they get some email telling them it will go to the moon. Thanks for adding the photos, I'm in the process of trying to get actual pictures of BETM's property for the site.

- Update: Your BETM page got indexed by Google. It's about the 15th return; with just a few links in and it will move up the list. Looks like it's had 316 views. Yes, this is how I spend my time, checking things like this. Jonathan Stokes 16:25, 19 March 2007 (PDT)
I added a little more kiosk depth as well as a recent international announcement (woot!) I'm hoping to get the financials on the partnership and will update when I can find them. I'm glad the G love is starting to kick in. It won't take much to get the #2 ranking for a company that has an information void like this. I'm hoping other investors will eventually find the wiki in their searches and will add to it. I already have a few other investors who will be helping me with content. They are a little intimidated by the code, but hopefully, their content will help me build this out. Maintaining it will be easy, getting it built is the hard part.

- Update: Davisfreeberg, the BETM page is #1 on Google for American Wagering BETM. Good work! Jonathan Stokes 13:25, 26 March 2007 (PDT)
