My name is Dave Vellante. I'm the Co-founder of three startups, including ITCentrix, Inc., Barometrix Software Corporation and the Wikibon project. I started IDC's storage service in 1984 and became a Senior Vice President of the company's largest and most profitable division where I helped launch several growth initiatives including investment research services for Wall Street and CIO practices. I've managed numerous global businesses across Europe and A/P and have been a frequent speaker at industry conferences. I've written on topics including storage and storage management, systems, software, IT management, business value of IT, application portfolio management, IT governance and IT asset management. Over the years I've closely analyzed companies like Amazon, AOL, Dell, EMC, HP, IBM, Intel, Hitachi, Microsoft, Oracle, Sun, Yahoo and many other emerging companies.

As a CEO, I successfully helped launch and bootstrap ITCentrix, Barometrix and Wikibon, building organizational infrastructure and securing customer funding through Compaq, EMC, HP, Hitachi, IBM, Joseph E. Seagram, Mass Mutual, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Johnson & Johnson, The World Bank, Sun Microsystems, Fidelity Investments, Pfizer, Unisys and many other notable companies.

I'm a graduate of Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.
