Business
TravelCenters operates a network of 163 travel centers that offer various hospitality and fuel services to professional truck drivers and motorists primarily along the U.S. interstate highway system. One hundred forty-six (146) of these centers are leased from Hospitality Properties Trust, 13 are owned and operated by TA franchisees and four are owned by TA or leased from third parties.

History
- February 1, 2007 - TravelCenters of America LLC began trading on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol TA.
- January 31, 2007 - Hospitality Properties Trust completed the acquisition of TravelCenters of America Inc., restructured the company, and then spun off TravelCenters of America LLC.
- January 26, 2007 - TravelCenters of America LLC registration statement becomes effective.
Financials
TravelCenters of America LLC is debt free as a result of the spin-off transaction from Hospitality Properties Trust. However, it does now have a significant long-term lease with HPT.

Contractual Relationship and Potential Conflict of Interest with Hospitality Trust
A Wall Street Journal article written by Karen Richardson on 2/20/2007, pointed out that the company stated in its prospectus that is not formed for its own benefit, but rather for Hospitality Properties Trust's benefit. So as the company stated in its offering prospectus, "some of our contractual relationships and the terms of our initial operations may provide more benefits to Hospitality Trust than to us." [1] [2]
