Domain Redirect

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm worried this will mess up our Google indexing again though. site:valuewiki.com has all our results. I guess it's best to do it sooner rather than later though. Please give me the go-ahead though?
I guess we may take a temporary hit on Google. Currently all our inlinks go to www.valuewiki.com, so that's where our PR will be. The only inlink I've found to http://valuewiki.com is your barcamp rsvp. Otherwise they uniformly go to www.valuewiki.com. FYI, folks on DP Forum think the next Google PR update is before Christmas. Based on my caveman-like understanding of the redirect-issue, I do give you my thumbs up, but defer to your expertise.

New Zach Stuff

  • Message Board Sandbox Added "New Title" function and simplified the headings (you can see where I didn't know how to link to "Launch Chat Window"). To make the page cleaner, would love to get rid of "Exchange/Industry/Category" and the Chart. Can you build one bundle instead of two? Say, one bundle laterally across the top of the page that bundles google ads, Launch Chat Window, Vote, and Signature tag horizontally? That could help clean up the page and make it clearer. Last point: do we need a Digg button on a message board? (if you're attached to this, can we make it smaller).
* I don't think we need the title function since we changed the name of the pages to Message Board
* I created a new template so we can play around with how the Talk page header should look Template:TalkHeader. It's tough to figure out exactly how it should look from your mock-up. Is there any tool you could use to illustrate more what you're thinking of?
* I think we should make a graphic for launching chat
* I agree we don't need a digg button.
  • Stock Sandbox Having written over 50 articles, I think I'm getting clearer on an outline that works. Again, I don't think we need signature buttons or digg buttons on the main article page. If you are attached to them, can we bundle them laterally at the top of the page (Exchange/Category... | ...Vote... | ...Digg... | ...Signature Button... | ...Launch Chat Window). I think that will make things cleaner and call out the Vote button. Also, I think we discussed adding the ValueWiki Message Board and Chat links under "Message Boards" (I haven't done this yet). Lastly, note that I added some wording inside the edit window so people know what they can delete (feel free to modify this wording). Note: While I think there are good suggestions here, it's worth noting these changes will only apply for FUNDS, OTC, and AMEX.......and we may be making specific templates for those anyway......Also, we may want to make some of these suggested bundling changes for the NASDAQ and NYSE pages......so we'll probably have some dialogue before making these changes (duh).
We should definately talk about this. I need clear rules for which pages get which templates. I think photoshop could be a good tool for you to communicate what you want. If you take a screenshot, you should be able to move every element around. Keep in mind though that the page width changes.
  • Disney Page Has 26 links plus content. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Otherwise, I humbly lay it at your feet.
This is really tough. Only the ones with the symbol will work. The ones with titles will not match up.
What do you think about putting all these under a links heading? If they're all together, we could make a template of all external links that take the symbol as a parameter. Then we could include that template in one section for all stocks that have external links.
