THIS MESSAGE BOARD IS FOR THE VIACOM SERIES A, VOTING SHARES. THE MOST LIQUID AND TRADED VIACOM STOCK IS THE VIACOM SERIES B SHARES. PLEASE REFER TO THE VIACOM SERIES B MESSAGE BOARD FOR DISCUSSION.--Wikister 18:08, 20 February 2007 (PST)
- Is there a way just to merge the 2 classes into one article, like BRKA and B? I think it's probably more practical that way. By the way, it's interesting that there's almost no premium for the voting rights that comes with the class A shares. --K Hartandi 18:52, 20 February 2007 (PST)
- Khartand, not sure what the best solution is here. Technically, they trade at seperate prices, with seperate tickers. On the other hand, it would seem that 90% of the article content should be identical. I agree the current setup is a little sloppy....but I'm not sure there's a better solution. - Yeah I think most of the information in the main article and message board should be relevant to both classes. How about displaying merging the articles and display quote data for both classes in the main page, since most of the difference is just market related. I think you should be consistent with other stocks with different classes too like Berkshire. I think like VIA, the different classes of BRKA/B trade independently and have different value and voting power ratio to each other. --76.21.111.185 21:52, 20 February 2007 (PST)
