Getting Started
ValueWiki automatically contains stub pages for every U.S. publically listed stock. So in theory, you may never have to create a new stock page, only improve upon an existing one.
New Articles
- Naming a New Article: if you do find a topic that does not yet exist on ValueWiki, this is the procedure. Search for the article you want in the search bar. Many searches are case sensitive. If the topic does not yet exist, you will get a red link. Click on "create this page." Begin typing in the new edit page.
- Project List: Check out the ValueWiki Project List to see which articles need to be started (and which articles are already started).
Be Bold
- Be bold in writing and editing! Even starting a two sentence stub helps build the web. Be bold and the ValueWiki Community will support you.

How to Write
Maintaining some consistency in ValueWiki articles makes the site faster to read and faster to edit. This supports ValueWiki's ideal of efficiency. To this end, writing resources include the Manual of Style, ValueWiki guidelines, and the ValueWiki Mission.
Writing Tips
- You can also use the "{{CONTENT}}" tag to post this message: This section needs content! Click the blue edit link (to the right) to contribute.
How to Edit
- All the basic editing buttons you need are found when you open any edit window.
- A centralized glossary of programming instructions can be found on Wikipedia. This contains all information on editing and programming; how to create table of contents, headings, links, footnotes, etc. A fast editing reference is here.
- If you want to experiment with no fear of messing up, use ValueWiki's sandbox or your own user page.
- Remember, all changes can be reverted, so you can always erase your changes! Just begin by adding content. More experienced Value-Wookies will edit and clean up formatting. Wiki is a collaborative experience.
