Pipelines

The company's latest stage product in the pipeline, Prolacria for treatment of dry eye, has received two "approvable" letters (not approved but may be approved contingent to more data/trials) from the FDA in December 2003 and June 2005 after four Phase III pivotal trials. The company is currently still in ongoing discussion with the FDA about the future this drug. The company has submitted more data, but it is unclear whether the FDA will approve the drug without requiring new trials which would delay the program significantly and cost the company multi-million dollars per trial.
- On January 2007 the company announced that it would continue to seek FDA approval for Prolacria (Diquafosol). In November 2006, the company submitted more data on the drug from previous trials. The company has been granted a meeting with FDA and expects to provide update on the drug by the end of February 2007. ^[1]
