Exchange-traded funds, or ETFs are funds that track an index but can be traded like a stock. Unlike Mutual Funds, ETFs can be bought and sold at any time of day, and even sold short. ETFs are more tax-efficient than normal mutual funds, often with lower fees, and with no sales loads or minimum investment requirements.[1] ETFs are always designed to track a specific index.[2]
